Fun With Grammar (Part 2)

Presented by: Donna Tucker, CPRW, NCOPE

If you enjoyed Fun with Grammar -- Part I, you’ll find more to learn in Part II. (But you needn’t attend Part I to attend Part II.) Punctuation can be powerful, yet some people believe punctuation and grammar exist only to complicate matters. To the contrary, good grammar and punctuation are critical to the quality of written English, even though they are often taken lightly. Our clients turn to us with the expectation that we will prepare documents that not only showcase their skills, experience, and accomplishments, but that are always grammatically correct and properly punctuated. View this recording and learn what you need to know to get it right every time!

This was an interactive question and answer session. Included with the recording is a scoresheet so that you can "play along at home." You’ll come away better prepared to write tight and write well. You will find the answers to these questions and more.

In this session, you will :

  • What’s an em dash? An en dash? And why should you care?
  • How can you avoid a comma splice or a run-on sentence?
  • Is it “all right to use ”alright” in standard English—or in resume?
  • Are you writing with parallel structure for greatest readability?

Note: Part 1 is not available due to technical issues with the recording.

This one-hour recording from the 2020 Virtual Conference is FREE for NRWA members and $19.99 for nonmembers. It qualifies for 1 CEU.
