Board Bio
Cathy Lanzalaco has been a member of the NRWA since 2017 and is the owner of Inspire Careers. A two-time ROAR Award winner, she is a Certified Professional Resume Writer, a Nationally Certified Online Profile Expert, and a Certified Professional Career Coach.
Cathy began her career as a registered nurse and transitioned into a successful second career in human resources leadership. In 2017 she founded Write-Resume-For-The-Job to support job seekers by providing a perspective “from the other side of the desk,” and in 2018 she quit her HR day job to focus on her business full-time and purchased Inspire Careers later that year. Shortly afterward, she rebranded her original business under the Inspire Careers banner and has been serving her clients as its CEO since then.
In 2023, Cathy became the director of membership support for the NRWA’s experienced business owners in the western region. She was excited to serve in this capacity to help her peers be as successful as they desire to be with their businesses. Supporting job search success in at the local level, she is also on the board of directors for the Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association as its In Transition Chair.
A podcast host, frequently requested podcast and tv guest speaking about career-related strategies, Cathy shares her expertise freely to support the career and business goals of executives and career-minded professionals across the country. Recognizing a need for deeper job search support for new college graduates, in 2019 she created the Inspire Careers Student Professional Launch Program™, an innovative approach to developing independence in new graduate job search with a 100% success rate for its participants across a diverse array of industries.
Cathy lives in Buffalo, NY. She is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, hiker, warm-weather traveler, and morning mall walker.
