A well-written résumé is the ticket to landing an “okay” job, but career branding is the backstage pass that gives your clients VIP access to opportunities that others miss. A strong career brand makes your clients an easy “YES” for recruiters and gives them faster access to the opportunities they really want.
“Branding” is a word tossed about on the Internet nowadays, but what does it really mean? As professional writers, how can we apply the principles of branding to create meaningful, lasting brand equity for our clients? This talk will show you the basics of career branding as well as some practical “how-tos” for creating résumés that are unique, valuable, and memorable.

Rebecca L. McCarthy is the owner of Bright Career Branding and The Written Coach. Her approach to writing, editing, and coaching is based on 20+ years of experience as a professional writer in both the publishing and marketing industries. She has published more than 50 books with Penguin, Simon & Schuster, and Scholastic, and written for licensors such as DreamWorks, Disney, Warner Bros., and Paramount. She has also written for Vistage International, the largest CEO membership organization in the world. Rebecca is an NCRW, NCOPE, a certified legal proofreader, and an Authorized DISC Administrator and Behavioral Consultant.
