Webinar: Implicit Bias: Unintentional (and Harmful) Insertion in Career Documents and Interviews

Presented by:

Dr. Cheryl Minnick, NCRW, NCOPE, MRW, CHJMC, CCMC, CRA, CICNC

June 14, 2024  |  12:30 – 1:30 p.m., ET

Gender, age, media, culture, and social norms influence language, workplace behavior, and our perception of professionalism. Resume writers, career consultants, and clients/students unconsciously use biased language in written and verbal communications that thwart their careers – usually without knowing it.

In this webinar Dr. Minnick will explain how:

  • An understanding of communication patterns can help us guide clients/students to use advantageous language.
  • Self-reflection and improved communication can minimize damage caused by implicit bias and help drive clients' career success.
