Board Bio
Jean Austin is a member of the NRWA Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and is acting NRWA Professional Development Chair. She has also served as a ROAR judge, Conference Program Planning Committee member, Public Image Committee member, Ask the Experts contributor, and NRWA program auditor. She served as 2017 Conference Program Planning Chair and was honored with the Vivian Belen Award for outstanding service to the NRWA.
While Director of Career Education and Services at Concordia University Wisconsin, Jean became passionate in her desire to help job seekers achieve their career goals. She transformed a one-person career services office to a full-service department, offering a complete spectrum of career services including resume writing, interview prep, a resource library and computer center. She collaborated with university faculty and staff in developing and launching departmental presentations and job search events, including job fairs, employer networking receptions, “meet the professionals,” and business/dining etiquette events, She earned a Master of Science degree in Education with an emphasis in Student Personnel Administration.
Jean established Talents Presented Resume Writing & Job Search Strategies in 2007. Her diverse
career background has enabled her to provide an unusual depth of perspective for job seekers. She creates customized resumes and cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and professional bios, letters of inquiry/acceptance, and thank-you letters. Jean also coaches job seekers on job search strategies and helps them prepare for interviews. Keenly aware of her responsibilities to her clients, she has committed herself to ongoing professional development, and has attained the following certifications:
